A recurring theme in my life is that I appreciate a challenge. I enjoy learning and growing and am always looking to venture into new areas of design. While those opportunities are presented in my daily (paid) work, sometimes I set out on my own to create something unique.
These projects have no directives except “to create” and result in digital or tangible pieces of art. Once, I drew a portrait of our beloved Boston Terrier as a gift for my wife. Another time I used a found tree branch in the woods to create a lamp. I don’t know where these ideas originate but I pay attention to them. I not only love the process of creating, I need it.
For this project, I planted a found tree branch into a square concrete base. Metal wire completed the form and a single hanging Edison Bulb gives it function.
Decided to try my hand at a pair of custom shoes. My daughter wore the soles out of them :)
Picked up a cheap project bike on FB marketplace, chopped it up and put it back together (best I could). My neighbors hate it.
